I've been an off/on user of Soulpancake for about a year and some if it can be pretty hit or miss. You get unlucky and you get some jerk that doesn't want to discuss anything but just wants to rail against you and be rude because they think it is funny. I love the idea of it though. Now to answer the question about what helps connect people deeply, I think it is honesty. Honesty about all things. It is something you sense almost immediately in a relationship. Is this person holding back, or not saying something, or saying something when they really don't believe in it. The best relationships I have had disagreements about subjects were often times the funnest part, if that person was being honest. Learning how that person thinks, letting them learn how you think, it is something that is really a lost thing unfortunately.

Time spent listening to someone, and bearing in mind the quote "listen and silent include the same letters "

The Soul Pancake website is so addictive. I'm excited to see what the book has in store! Great editing on this piece, too!

Great idea! Its sad to say that it isn't only gadgets that we are hiding behind with these types of questions. In general it seems that deeper questions are societal Fauz Pas. That if you discuss deeper rooted questions you may break a friendship or upset a family member when really these are the types of questions that should bring us together and open our minds towards a more meaningful life. I look forward to reading the book and sharing it with friends and family.

This is great! Has anyone read the Soul Pancake book? Does it make you want to stop reading and start conversation?
