All it takes is one person to leave a lasting impression on a child's life and this video clearly echoes the importance of this. I mentored 4th and 5th grade girls at a charter school in Washington D.C for two years. Each week they challenged me and tested my patience. I never gave up though. In return, I taught them about self-respect, self-worth, and how to be overall "young ladies." Not surprisingly, in the world we live in these core values are disappearing to say the least. Amaka, thank you for your selfless contribution to this new generation of young people. As a set forth in my training as an obstetrician and gynecologist my future mission is to teach young woman the importance of loving their mind, body, and soul as all these things are connected to maintaining a healthy life.
