I believe that it is possible to be good without God but it is much harder and perhaps lonelier. Without a tradition, every decision can be harder to make. Humanists have a right to their (non)beliefs but they miss out on the mystery of life. They miss out on the spiritual life that makes being human so much richer. Because I have a deep faith in God, I have deep faith that everything happens for a reason. This makes the difficulties of life easier to bear. Greg could say I'm delusional and I could say that he's blind to God's presence in the world but that would gets us both nowhere. We are both excercising our free will to have our own beliefs which is a good thing of itself.
